Competition
This year, UNLV is hosting the 2009 National Student Steel Bridge Competition at Las Vegas, Nevada.
During competition, each bridge is scored based on weight, deflection, and a timed assembly. After the timed assembly, each bridge is loaded with 2500lbs and the deflection is measured. Finally the bridge is weighed.
The bridges are ranked based on the lowest of the total score from Construction Economy (Number of builders x Time) and Structural Efficiency (Weight x Deflection).
